What to Know
The Le Moyne Dolphins will head out on the road to face off against the UCSB Gauchos at 9:00 p.m. ET on Sunday at Thunderdome. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they’ll have plenty of motivation to get the ‘W’.
On Friday, the Dolphins couldn’t handle the Toreros and fell 80-71.
Meanwhile, UCSB’s game on Monday was all tied up 44-44 at the half, but sadly for them it didn’t stay that way. They took a 89-76 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Miners. UCSB has now taken an ‘L’ in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn’t tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Yohan Traore, who scored 23 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariel Bland, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds.
The Dolphins’ defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-3. That poor showing could be blamed on the team’s lackluster offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 61.7 points per game. As for the Gauchos, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Le Moyne have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.5 rebounds per game. However, it’s not like UCSB struggles in that department as they’ve been even better at 37 per game. Given these competing strengths, it’ll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check CBS Sports after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other NCAA Basketball content.
