Ulta Beauty is continuing to revamp its C-suite.

On Thursday, it announced that the British beauty executive Lauren Brindley will succeed Monica Arnaudo as the retailer’s chief merchandising and digital officer from June 3.

Arnaudo’s retirement was announced last November. In January, longtime chief executive officer Dave Kimbell was succeeded by Kecia Steelman, the company’s former president and chief operating officer.

Brindley joins from the British beauty company Revolution Beauty, where she was chief executive since August 2023. Brindley is credited with kick-starting a turnaround for the embattled mass cosmetics label, which had seen its profits and sales slide amidst ongoing legal challenges with its founders.

Brindley oversaw a plan to simplify the company’s offerings from seven brands to three, cut poor-performing SKUs, and slow-moving excess stock at discounted rates. She previously held leadership roles at Walgreens and Boots.

In a release, Ulta Beauty’s CEO Steelman hailed Brindley’s “global perspective”, saying her appointment would help grow strategic partnerships with its brands. The retailer is currently on an aggressive turnaround plan, which has seen it pause initiatives like its shop-in-shop partnership with Target, increase its selection of premium brands formerly only found in rival Sephora like Milk Makeup and Sol de Janeiro, and attract new exclusive brands like the singer Beyoncé’s hair care line, Cécred.

In March, Ulta Beauty reported net sales down 1.9 percent for its fourth fiscal quarter. Full-year sales rose 0.8 percent to $11.3 billion.
