This was cute. I honestly loved Renata and Aggie more than anyone. But all the characters were likeable. I loved the growing friendship between Ruthie and Mel. Teddy was kind of adorable. I liked the slow burn and how he just never gave up on Ruthie. She definitely had a lot of issues including not being able to leave and start her own life. Her guilt over stuff from the past was painful to read about. The thrift shop scene was one of my favorites. I also loved the addition of the tortoises. And tattoos. There wasn’t really anything steamy, but that was ok for the type of book it was. I honestly just focused on everyone’s relationships and how they changed over time. Seeing growth from Ruthie was great.
I gave this book 4 stars.
