For many parents (including myself), the morning coffee routine is non-negotiable—a small but necessary lifeline to tackle the day. But if you rely on International Delight coffee creamer to make that first cup just right, you might need to check your fridge.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that more than 75,000 bottles of International Delight coffee creamer have been recalled due to reports of spoilage and illness.

What flavors are affected?
The recall affects two popular flavors of International Delight coffee creamer, both in 32 oz bottles:
- Hazelnut International Delight Coffee Creamer (Best by July 3, 2025)
- Cinnabon Classic Cinnamon Roll International Delight Coffee Creamer (Best by July 2, 2025)
Why is this recall happening?
According to Danone, the parent company of International Delight, the recall was issued due to premature spoilage that could affect texture. The recall falls under a Class II classification, indicating “a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote,” according to the FDA.
While the company insists it’s not a major food safety risk, the FDA states it has received complaints of spoilage and illness from customers who consumed the affected products.
Which states are impacted?
The recalled products were sold in 31 states, including:
- Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
What should parents do?
If you have one of these creamers in your fridge, check the best-by date and UPC code to see if it matches the recalled batch.
If so:
- Do not consume it—even if it smells or looks fine.
- Dispose of it or return it to the store for a refund or replacement.
- If you’ve experienced illness after consuming the product, contact your doctor.
For additional concerns, Danone advises consumers to call the International Delight Consumer Care Line at 1-800-441-3321.
The bottom line
For sleep-deprived parents, losing their go-to coffee creamer is not the news we wanted this morning. But this recall is a good reminder to always check expiration dates and product recalls—especially when it comes to something we consume every day. And if you’re on the hunt for a replacement, it might just be the perfect time to try making your own homemade creamer (because parenting is basically one big experiment, right?).
Stay caffeinated and stay safe, parents!
