Attention parents: Nuna Baby Essentials has issued a voluntary recall affecting more than 600,000 RAVA car seats due to a potential safety issue with the harness adjuster. This design defect could affect the seat’s ability to keep your child securely restrained in certain conditions.
Reports of the issue began circulating on December 19, 2024, and a safety report filed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on November 27, 2024, confirmed the problem. The impacted car seats were manufactured between July 16, 2016, and October 25, 2023.
Why was the NUNA Rava car seat recalled?
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), “Debris may enter the front harness adjuster and cause the mechanism to fail, resulting in a loose harness.” When debris gets into the harness adjuster area, it may prevent the mechanism from clamping tightly onto the adjuster strap. This could leave the harness too loose to effectively restrain your child in the event of an accident.
While no injuries or fatalities have been reported related to this issue, Nuna is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of families who trust their products.
