The PGA Tour makes its annual trip to Quail Hollow Golf & Country Club this week for the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship. As a signature event, the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship field will be competing for a total purse of $20 million and a winner’s share of $3.6 million. World No. 2 Rory McIlroy enters the tournament as the 13-2 betting favorite in the latest 2024 Wells Fargo Championship odds. Other top contenders in the field include Xander Schauffele (9-1), Wyndham Clark (14-1), Max Homa (22-1), Collin Morikawa (22-1) and Justin Thomas (22-1). The first tee times come at 11 a.m. ET on Thursday.
Clark enters as the defending tournament champion after winning the event by four strokes in 2023. Then, at the Valspar Championship, McClure recommended using Cameron Young, who finished in second place, in OAD pools.
At last week’s CJ Cup Byron Nelson, McClure recommended using 50-1 longshot Alex Noren in One and Done pools. Noren would go on to be in contention until the end, before finishing in third place, two strokes off the lead.
